Senior Project Manager

We’ve got an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and experienced Senior Project Manager looking to develop their career and skillset.

We are a forward-thinking, fast-growing organisation and as a result, we’re continuously expanding our portfolio of technology projects. Whether it’s critical health systems, complex racks for the defence and marine sectors, or interactive products for the entertainment industry, our values remain consistent – we are championing reliable, cost-effective solutions with determination and space, and we want you to help us deliver these products to market. From being hands-on in the project delivery process from design conception to delivery, to mentoring and leading the Project Management team, your experience and knowledge will help us improve our services and solutions to ultimately ensure customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for the planning and running of projects on a day-to-day basis and for leading and coordinating the project management team. Being a seasoned Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for the more complex projects we have to deliver which typically carry a higher degree of customer-facing interaction and responsibility. This will allow you to gain a broader perspective of the overall requirements, what the customer is looking for and how we can be best aligned to deliver. So in short, you’ll be in and amongst it all! However, you can’t do this all alone which is where a tight-knit team is needed and where you’ll use your interpersonal skills and experience to help mentor, get stuck in when needed but also know when to stand back and let the team run with things

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing complex projects involving the design and delivery of mechanical, electronic or electromechanical hardware.
  • Relevant degree or technical experience within a similar industry in order to be able to “speak” the same language as the designers and technical stakeholders the projects will be delivered to.
  • Good experience managing and leading a small team of technical people (engineers, project managers, etc.)
  • Passion and energy – a person who is driven yet wants the team to succeed and is a natural collaborator.
  • Excellent communication skills – ability to quickly and concisely impart information in a way that can be understood by a variety of people from team members to customers and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent management skills – able to navigate tough situations and make difficult decisions for the benefit of the business and where necessary positively motivate people to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Organised and with excellent time management.

Desirable:

  • Professionally qualified Project Manager.
  • Experience of working to the ISO 9001 standard or a professional and process-driven methodology.
  • Very good working knowledge using MS Project/MS Office products and ERP/PDM type products.
