Applications Engineer – Rack Integration

Are you an enthusiastic applications engineer wanting a new challenge? 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Applications Engineer for our Rack Integration technical services team.

A technical background, willingness to interact with sales teams and customers, and a keen interest in getting involved in commercial aspects of winning business, is what we are looking for from this role.

We can offer the successful candidate training and development opportunities to gain further breadth and depth of knowledge to support a technical career path, or, due to the versatility of this role, it can also offer career progression opportunities into Product Management, Business Development or Sales.

The successful candidate will need to have a good baseline technical background with a desire to learn and develop further.  We are not expecting a finished article as this is a development role.

The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in technically specifying, configuring or supporting the sales of 19” rack related products either from component sets or from more integrated systems.  Ideally they will have a baseline understanding of 19” Rack architectures, including awareness of mechanical structures, cable management, power distribution, environmental management and general IT & Comms payloads.

The role will also require the candidate to interface to multiple stakeholder teams in the business for the realisation of won rack integration opportunities.  These will typically involve the purchasing team responsible for the procurement of the materials required, the production team for the integration of the rack, and any other associated services such as validation and verification, documentation, compliance, logistics as well as engineering teams for any custom design.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Experience working in a Technical sales support role with a minimum of 3+ years track record
  • Experience in the preparation of technical content for quotations and proposals
  • Experience in defining, pricing and managing complex BOMs
  • Experience in working with Rack related technologies
  • Technical skills centred around computing/IT technologies
  • Educational grounding in technical/STEM subjects to minimum of college level
  • Qualified by experience with a minimum of 3+ years applied

 

Desirable Requirements:

The successful candidate will need to be able to communicate and deliver a persuasive technical proposition to the proposed solutions specific to the needs of individual customers.  Whilst this need not be a polished skill, it will be a required developed skill in time by training and practice.

  • Experience in a similar role and engineering centric market place
  • Sector experience in multiple verticals including any of: Medical, Transport, Automation, Energy, Communications, Defence or similar
  • Good understanding of rack integration principles, and the complexities of integrating IT functional units into more complex integrated rack solutions
  • Good understanding of computing, IT and electronics
  • Experience working to KPI’s and targets
  • Experience in working in a professional and structured methodology aligned to the ISO:9001 standard

Digital Marketing Manager

This Digital Marketing Manager role suits someone who is ambitious, with a view to driving their career further in specialised marketing management. We are looking for someone who can already prove themselves a specialist and can take ownership of the digital marketing function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising for awareness promotion and lead generation
  • Maintaining our social media presence across all digital channels
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI & KPIs)
  • Website content and administration management
  • Outbound email marketing creation, targeting, distribution and analysis
  • B2B social media management, design and dissemination
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Degree in digital marketing or a marketing related field
  • Minimum of 5 years+ in a B2B digital marketing position. Ideally with at least 2 in a supervisory or management role
  • Website content management using an industry standard CMS (WordPress desirable)
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing B2B SEO/SEM, CRM database, email, social media and advertising campaigns
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and drive lead generation
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and prospect funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Experience in Google and Web Analytics, PPC, Display/Retargeting/Landing Pages, UTM/Keyword Research and Email Automation Engines
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing Google Adwords campaigns
  • Working knowledge in Web programming languages and CMS
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

Engineering Support Technician

Required Experience & Skillset:

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in an engineering environment for a technology company who manufacture their own products.
  • Knowledge and experience of managing change management processes.
  • Advanced use of Product Data Management Systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of Bills of Materials content and structure, Part Number generation and revision control and the effects changes can have within a business.
  • Experience of developing processes and workflows.
  • Hands-on management of technical support tracking systems and allocation and tracking of resources.
  • Testing and assessing technology products for fitness for purpose.
  • Technical documentation and writing skills. Competent in using SharePoint and Microsoft Office products.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of working to ISO 9001 standards or a profession process driven methodology.
  • Experience working as an interface between engineering and other internal departments.
  • Good working knowledge of manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for computer products.
  • Good practical skills with regards to mechanical or computer assembly, wiring and system test.
  • Comfortable working with complex databases and ability to write queries when required.
  • Competent in using Epicor PDM system.
  • Ideally a minimum of an ONC/HNC in mechanical, electronics, process or similar discipline would be desirable, however demonstrable capability through experience would be considered.
