We are delighted to announce we have recently been presented with the 2016 Queen’s Award for Enterprise by the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, in a ceremony also attended by the Mayor of Fareham.
Earlier in the year, we revealed that we had won an Enterprise Award for International Trade and Development. The Award is the highest UK’s accolade for business, and recognises outstanding international trade results, a positive impact upon society and strong business relations.
The reception, held at our Fareham Headquarters, included a company tour, award giving and a celebratory champagne lunch for visitors and staff.
Opening proceedings, our Managing Director and Founder, Professor Max Toti, explained how prestigious an honour it was to be named as winners on Her Majesty The Queen’s 90th birthday, and 60th year on the throne.
Presenting the Award on behalf of Her Majesty, the Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson Esq., congratulated Max and the company for our growth since inception in 1985. He reserved exceptional praise for our ability to engineer specialist computers that operate reliably in the most challenging environments.
The Lord-Lieutenant paid tribute to the other 48 South-East winners, stating that he hoped the successes had inspired other businesses in the region to enter the Queen’s Awards.
During the presentation, the Citation and Grant of Appointment were read out to attendees by the Deputy-Lieutenant, Andrew Kent Esq., before being formally presented.
Closing proceedings, The Mayor of Fareham, Cllr Mrs Connie Hockley, said she was honoured to have been invited to the ceremony by Captec.
Cllr Hockley congratulated us on what she described as a fully justified Award, saying she was amazed by our company, the workplace and our processes, and would be spreading the Captec word far and wide.
As part of the Queen’s Award success, Max was also invited to attend the Buckingham Palace Reception on 14th July. It was an event organised for all the 2016 winning companies, personally hosted by Her Majesty.
Our appetite for success does not stop there. We harbour strong ambitions of winning a hat-trick of Queen’s Awards by securing its two remaining categories. The entry for the Sustainable Development category has already been submitted, while the Award for Innovation remains at the very top of our agenda.
Speaking after the ceremony, Max said:
“We are honoured and delighted to have won this prestigious award. My wife and I will treasure our visit to Buckingham Palace and meeting the Queen in person.
This has inspired us to strive to win the two other Queen’s Award categories.”
