Launch of Embedded Server Series

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new ‘ES’ Embedded Server series. These servers are designed and engineered to offer a high degree of reliability, availability and extended longevity, all bundled into an ‘out of the box’ highly cost effective solution.

The need for a dependable server backbone is increasingly a business or mission critical factor for embedded applications to prevent costly downtime caused by failure or migration to new hardware/software. The Captec ES Series has been engineered with just this in mind. Comprising a range of high reliability/availability application and storage servers for embedded environments, they are based on over 26 years of Industrial Computer design and manufacturing know-how.

Key Benefits

- Reliability & Availability
- Longevity
- Ready out of the Box
- Cost

Reliability & Availability

Manufactured for high reliability, equipped with ‘best of breed’ industrial grade components, the ES Series can be deployed in a variety of different applications and operating environments. The use of dual-redundant power supplies and optional failover clustering almost completely mitigates the possibility of application downtime.

Longevity

Through obsolescence management, the longevity of the ES Series ensures continuity of supply of up to 15 years for the OS (based on Microsoft Windows Server for Embedded Systems) and 5-7 years for the hardware; minimising migration costs caused by obsolescence.

Ready out of the Box

The ES Series comes fully installed and with pre-configured options for; SQL, Storage or Threat Management Gateway (TMG) applications, thus saving on self-installation cost and inconveniences.

Cost

The ES Series are more cost effective than commercial servers. Because they are limited in licensing to a dedicated single function application they fall under a more competitive pricing structure, as well as enjoy a more flexible CAL (Client Access Licensing) model for connected devices.

The ES Series is based on the latest Intel second generation Sandybridge from i3 to i7-Core as well as dual Xeon processors to cater for different application and budget demands. The family shares a common base of three form factors: 1U, 2U and 4U configurations.

Captec’s industrial computers and servers have been tried and tested where reduced downtime and reliability are critical, into a multitude of applications across a number of sectors from the extremes of defence, to the longevity and control of medical.
