Get Mobile with Captec’s new Rugged Tablet Computers

Captec has introduced a new range of survivable, fully rugged and semi rugged tablet computers for specialist applications on the move in any conditions. These are designed to operate under extreme conditions of weather, shock and vibration, and endure rough handling. This makes them ideal for use in vehicles or outdoors from deserts to offshore installations.

Specialist mobile computing applications require reliable platforms to operate under extreme conditions of temperature, shock, vibration and weather, and in some cases must be usable with gloved hands. Often playing a key role in data collection, tablets need functionality such as smart card readers, RFID, barcode scanners, cameras, and GPS in addition to connecting seamlessly to base operations. Crucially, once an application becomes mobile it needs to stay that way, rather than interrupting operation with the need to recharge batteries or find mains power connections.

  • Survivable, capable of withstanding dusty and wet environments, shocks and vibration
  • Easy to use in bright conditions with sunlight readable multi touch display
