Captec Acquires Serikon Holding
Captec Creates One of Europe’s Largest Specialist Industrial Computing Groups Through Acquisition of Serikon Holding
Captec Group Plc is pleased to announce the fully cash-funded acquisition of a majority shareholding in Serikon Holding GmbH, the German holding company of industrial computing specialist Spectra, its associated companies across the DACH region, and its longstanding shareholding in its Taiwanese joint venture operations.

The acquisition expands Captec’s international footprint to seven countries across ten associated companies. The enlarged Group significantly strengthens Captec’s position as one of Europe’s leading and largest specialist industrial computing suppliers, with established operations across the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Taiwan.
The acquisition brings together highly complementary capabilities in specialised and industrial computing, creating significant opportunities through expanded geographic reach, enhanced cross-selling opportunities and a broader product and capability portfolio. Customers will benefit from increased technical and engineering expertise, wider support capabilities and access to a larger international organisation.
The combined technical knowledge and technology portfolios will also create new opportunities for product innovation and future development, establishing a stronger platform for sustainable growth across Europe and international markets.
Spectra and its subsidiary will continue to operate under their existing company and trading names, supported by their established leadership teams. As part of the transition, Harald Lang will step down as Managing Director of Spectra after almost 44 years with the business, while all existing management teams across the Group will remain in place under the continued, tenured leadership of Klaus Rottmayr and Jürgen Rauscher.
Max Toti, CEO and Founder of Captec Group, commented:
“Captec and Spectra share a similar forty-plus-year heritage and an unwavering commitment to specialised computing, technical excellence and long-term customer relationships. Bringing our organisations together creates a stronger Group with complementary capabilities, established regional operations and significant opportunities for future growth.
We have known and respected Harry and Spectra for many years, and whilst the Captec Board has been patient and highly selective in identifying the right acquisition for European expansion, we believe this acquisition provides the ideal partner to support Captec’s growth ambitions within our key markets, where both organisations have developed longstanding expertise and significant depth and breadth of customer relationships.
This acquisition reflects a shared outlook and strong cultural alignment, allowing the leadership teams of both groups to build on their respective strengths while creating a stronger future together under the Captec umbrella.”
Harald Lang, Outgoing Managing Director and Founder of Spectra, commented:
“Having known Max Toti and Captec for more than thirty-five years, I am confident this represents the right long-term home for Spectra and its companies. Our organisations share similar values, cultures and approaches to business.
Combining Captec and Spectra establishes a strong foundation for sustainable growth while creating new opportunities for our employees, customers and business partners.”
