Business Development Manager

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join us and develop targeted opportunities and win business in our expanding industrial computing and rack integration business units. If you’ve got a strong background in a field-based business development and account management role with proven experience in delivering a multimillion sales target, you’ll thrive here at Captec!

As the Business Development Manager reporting to our Fareham headquarters, you’ll have experience in selling 19-inch rack-related solutions and industrial computer products. This is a commercial role and does not require a depth of technical knowledge, but knowledge of the commercially available components and customer requirements would give you a strong advantage!

As this role can be based remotely from our Head Office, you’ll also need to be a self-starter that can manage time and priorities effectively. You’ll have to immerse yourselves in all aspects of our capabilities and services to effectively relay the benefits and features of our offerings so customers are convinced of our value proposition and offered the most suitable solution for their needs.

Business Development Manager – North

We’ve got a great opportunity for a specialist Business Development Manager to cover the North of the UK based around the Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield areas. As the Business Development Manager,  primarily you will develop targeted opportunities and win business in the expanding gaming solutions part of our business. If you’ve got a strong background in a field-based business development and account management role with experience selling computing solutions into the Gaming and Leisure sector, then we want to hear from you!

Ideally, you’ll have experience solution selling products into the computer technology market and in negotiating, winning and deploying major projects. As the Business Development Manager, you will engage in a balanced mix of opportunity nurturing and relationship building activities to identify and progress prospects to customers.

At Captec, we’re highly ambitious with an aggressive growth plan to meet our milestone for an IPO float in the coming years. So this is a crucial position in which you’ll support the company’s development, initiating and growing key accounts to drive sales and profit.

To succeed in the position, you’ll need strength of character, confidence and an eagerness to take on new challenges in a target-driven environment. Negotiation skills and a polished customer facing approach is key, as you’ll be communicating and presenting persuasive value propositions to a range of audiences. As this role focuses on new business and management of two major northern accounts, we would envisage you being based as far north as Manchester or Leeds and no further south than Nottingham. You will be field, home and office-based, reporting to our HQ in Hampshire once a month.

You won’t be alone in all this, you’ll receive support from all areas of the company to help you provide customers with the most effective and relevant information to meet their technical requirements. You’ll have to immerse yourselves in all aspects of our capabilities and services to effectively relay the benefits and features of our offerings so that customers are convinced of our value proposition and offered the most suitable solution for their needs.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Five years’ experience with C-level relationships selling computer technology solutions into the gaming and leisure sector
  • Proven experience of delivering £1m+ sales targets consistently year-on-year

  • Industrial B2B market sector experience with a computing, electronics, IT/technology-related background
  • Experienced in major project deployments and management of the stakeholders involved

Junior Compliance Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Compliance Engineer, you will help prevent compliance issues by collaborating with customers and the design teams to identify compliance requirements, and develop and implement plans to ensure products meet specifications. This will include researching applicable standards and performing diagnostic or performance tests on products, parts or components to verify that specifications have been met. The nature of projects will vary greatly and involve electromechanical design, electronic hardware, integration and innovation based around computing solutions.

As the Junior Compliance Engineer, you will ideally be a recent engineering graduate. You will also have a good engineering or technical background, be a self-starter who can research necessary information and then apply this to ensure products and parts meet compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify product compliance by establishing test standards, conducting tests, performing diagnostic procedures, measuring performance and then analysing, evaluating and reporting findings
  • Organise compliance programmes by preparing timetables, cost estimates, and required resources including booking of test laboratories and necessary equipment
  • Create and maintain our technical construction files, rationales, declarations of conformity (DofC) and third party reports and certificates
Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Recent graduate holding an engineering degree or HND/HNC in an engineering discipline (ideally electronics, physics or general engineering degree).

Marketing Manager

In this product manager role, you’ll own, develop and implement the strategy for IoT throughout product lifecycles. You’ll own requirements gathering, create and deliver product roadmaps, and assist the transition from development, through to sales and through life support.

The job role includes commercial management to ensure products are developed effectively and adding value, so you’ll be aware of external influencing factors like market trends and product competition. As Captec’s IoT Product Manager, you’ll have vision and act as the product champion, all while keeping the customer at the centre of it all.

Quality Manager

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join us at our Fareham HQ. As the Quality Manager, you will be heading up our QHSE team with a mission to continuously improve quality, health & safety and environmental management. In this role, there is lots of opportunity for career development as our company group grows, towards and beyond our IPO goal.

The role involves heading up the QHSE function which has company-wide responsibilities, as well as managing a team of three direct reports. The Quality Manager is an active member of the company management team and shares responsibility for the day-to-day smooth running of the business. You will be involved in organising and managing the QMS and EMS internal audits and management reviews, ensuring all corrective actions are completed in agreed timescales. Also, as the Quality Manager you will be involved in the customer complaints process and ensuring compliance throughout the business.

We have mature ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certifications but our BMS (Business Management System) seeks to go beyond those requirements covering all areas of the business, so this role really does include involvement and influence throughout our business.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • The role requires a friendly but assertive approach, and the ability to influence and persuade others is important
  • Minimum of two years quality management experience in a manufacturing environment is essential
  • A current ISO-9001 auditor qualification and auditing experience is required. Internal auditor qualification is acceptable
  • Some experience of managing health & safety is required, but support will be provided for those with less experience
  • Able to prepare and present reports to customers, suppliers and the management team to a professional standard

Desirable requirements:

  • A relevant degree level qualification would be a distinct advantage, including CQI qualifications and CQP status
  • ISO-9001 lead auditor qualification including transition to 2015 standard is desirable but not essential
  • ISO-14001 auditor qualification and/or experience would be useful, but training can be provided
  • NEBOSH diploma would be an advantage
