Apprentice Storekeeper

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing team and kick-start their career within stores. As our Apprentice Storekeeper, you will have the ambition to succeed and the ability to work both within a team and as an individual. You will be completing the L2 Certificate in Warehousing & Storage and will be fully supported during your apprenticeship with us. Within the apprenticeship you will learn and develop specific knowledge and competency in warehousing, storage and dispatch of goods, keeping stock at required levels and operating equipment.

You will be working alongside a team of four stores professionals, gaining valuable insight and training into the storekeeper role. At Captec, we are a busy manufacturing company specialising in solution-led computers from tablets and industrial computers through to rack systems. We operate in a wide range of industries including medical, transport and defence and are based in Segensworth, Fareham.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Completion of the L2 Certificate in Warehousing & Storage through work-based assessments.
  • Ensure deliveries are accurately booked in on the day of arrival and any damaged items are reported.
  • Picking of production kits, ensuring these are accurate and updating the system accordingly.
  • Ensuring goods are packed securely in transit and carrying out dispatch related system transactions.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is correctly filled in to a high standard and accurate.

Desired experience:

  • Enthusiasm and drive to succeed in a stores career.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ideally a C/4 or above in Maths and English GCSE.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.

Product Manager

We are looking for a Product Manager to join our company based in Fareham. You will join a successful organisation that specialises in designing and manufacturing of specialist computing platforms. As the Product Manager, you will work on one of our leading product lines servicing sectors including rail, healthcare, energy, defence and many more to effectively manage the product life cycle from concept through to delivery. You will help develop and implement the product strategy and ensure the product roadmap is delivered effectively to all internal stakeholders and external customers. You will join a dynamic, successful and growing product management team that focus on delivering cutting-edge product solutions.

You will work closely with the Product Line Manager and play a pivotal role within the team, helping to shape and evolve the product portfolio by taking customer requirements and infusing your own ideas to define, craft, engineer and validate solutions, then watch them rise through development into robust, reliable and proven customer products. You will also participate in and present at customer/industry conferences, in addition to attending customer meetings where required.

Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Minimum three years’ track record of successfully working as a Product Manager.
  • Proven experience in product concept development, product launch and lifecycle management.
  • Experience interacting with customers, prospects, partners and sales teams.
  • Experience gathering market insight and spotting industry development and trends.
  • Experience in articulating company competencies and solution value to customers.
  • Product management practice and methodology.
  • Operate well in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ideally come from a medical, transport, automation, energy, communications, defence or similar background.

Electronics Engineer

We are on the lookout for an Electronics Engineer to join our dynamic, forward-thinking organisation that specialises in the design and manufacture of specialist computer equipment. You’ll be leading the design and development of bespoke analogue and digital electronic solutions from lithium battery management packs for commercial gaming tablets through to power distribution and monitoring equipment for use by the Royal Navy. As we grow into new industries and applications, the opportunity to learn and apply new skills is always just around the corner. There is never a dull day with us as our product range is so vast and varied.

Working from outline specifications, you’ll be responsible for the design, development and testing of new hardware and embedded solutions needed to meet customer and product requirements. You’ll be taking a leading role in multidisciplinary and cross-functional technical projects and providing guidance to other engineers during development project phases. Your work will encompass proving the viability of new concepts from first principles – including circuit modelling and calculations – and working with customers and other engineers to assist with integration, commissioning and problem resolution activities. In addition, as a senior interface with the production team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all data related to the electronic and electrical design and manufacture of a system is available for successful procurement and assembly.

If you are experienced as an Electronic Design Engineer, who is an expert in the design of analogue circuits and experience designing lithium battery management electronic circuits, we would love to hear from you! Required Experience & Skillset:
  • Experienced as an Electronic Design Engineer.
  • Good experience designing and developing circuitry to manage lithium batteries.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience developing analogue electronics.
  • Expert in design capture and the creation and validation of electronic schematics
  • Very competent in designing and generating PCB layouts of reasonable complexity.
  • Good experience dealing with production facilities and resolving any issues that may invariably arise.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture and test (DFm/DFt) along with ability to prototype, conduct experiments and analyse and interpret data.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience designing power management electronics for lithium battery packs or similar in small equipment.
  • Experience designing embedded equipment.
  • Development of automatic test equipment for validation of electronic hardware.
  • Previous management or leadership experience in an engineering team.
